According to ESPN Soccernet, Monaco forward Eidur Gudjohnsen has completed a switch to Tottenham Hotspur on a six-month loan deal. The former Barcelona and Chelsea player completed a medical on Thursday, preferring White Hart Lane instead of West Ham’s Upton Park.

“He’s a player I’ve always admired. He can play several positions and is a very clever footballer,” Spurs manager Redknapp said. “It was his decision to come to us. I rang him and left a message on his phone and he came back to me and said I want to come to Tottenham. He gives us lots of options. He is a top player."

Gudjohnsen joins an extremely potent squad of attackers, with the likes of Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane, Peter Crouch, and Roman Pavlyuchenko all fighting for regular places in the first-team.
