Manchester City’s move for Real Madrid man Fernando Gago remains shrouded in doubt. Whilst some reports had suggested that the Eastlands club have pulled out of a move to sign the Argentine, Catalan daily Sport believe that the Premier League side will make one final push.
The English club had sent an offer of €12M over to Madrid earlier in the transfer window, but this was rejected, Real themselves having paid out €18M to bring Gago from Boca Juniors.
It is thought that Real Madrid want not only to recover their outlay on Gago, but also make a small profit in the bargain. Thus talk is that Manchester City could mount a late late €20M bid, and if they did there would be a chance of it being accepted at the Bernabeu. Only a chance though since the Spanish giants remain reluctant to allow Gago to leave.
