Everton forward Tim Cahill, who scored Saturday’s match-winner against Wigan, has heaped massive praise on Everton assist king Leighton Baines The left-back has shown great ability to find team-mates, managing more than the rest of the Everton squad with nine assists, despite his withdrawn position.
“Leighton is first class,” Cahill said in the Manchester Evening News. “His assists this year have been unbelievable. For me, players like that are priceless and I thrive on his quality. I’m very lucky to have someone like that in the team. I practice in training with a lot of the lads but whenever there’s a free-kick, I do appreciate it when Leighton is on them.”
Everton have been on an impressive run as of late, remaining unbeaten in their last nine Premier League matches, and winning their last three with successive clean sheets.
