New coach Alberto Zaccheroni’s first outing in charge of Juventus ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw with Lazio. Despite the setback, he feels his side showed enough quality to achieve the club’s goal of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
"Our goal is to be in the Champions League zone come the end of the season, and what I saw against Lazio only confirms my belief that this is a goal within our reach,” Zaccheroni said in Gazzetta dello Sport. "My boys already understood what went well and what went wrong against Lazio. The Livorno game is coming soon, on Saturday, and tomorrow I am planning to speak to my players in greater detail.”
Zaccheroni is expected to use midweek’s training sessions to employ a different system to that employed by recently axed manager Ciro Ferrara.
