Marouane Chamakh has spoken of his delight at Bordeaux’s league form, confidence that no-one will be able to stop them winning Ligue 1, and also that when it comes to choosing where to go at the end of the season Arsenal are front-runners.

The striker has been in excellent form this season and attracted interest from a whole host of English clubs. It was even falsely reported by some websites that Chamakh had agreed a move to Liverpool.

Chamakh is surely heading to England however, and he told L’Equipe, "For sure I will leave [Bordeaux] at the end of the season. With every day that passes I am a little less Bordeaux." The striker was also confident that he made the right choice by deciding to stay in French football for another year and not leave last summer.

"It was the right choice [to stay with Bordeaux]."

He also confirmed his current preference. "If I had to choose, I would go to Arsenal" said Chamakh.
