Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh is believed to have decided to join Premier League club Arsenal in the summer, according to L’Equipe. The impressive Moroccan international has been on manager Arsene Wenger’s wish-list since last summer, and could now finally be set to get his man.

The 26-year-old was subject to a bid from Arsenal before the start of the current season, but the €7M offer was rejected by Ligue 1 side Bordeaux, who claimed the price was too low, even for a player under contract only until the end of the campaign. The current French league leaders are now in real danger of losing their coveted forward on a free transfer in the coming summer.

Chamakh, who has recently revealed that playing for the The Gunners would be “a dream”, is believed by some sources to have already signed a pre-contract with Wenger’s side.
