Amidst rumours claiming influential skipper Cesc Fabregas has made a verbal agreement to join Barcelona in the summer, manager Arsene Wenger is not in the least bit concerned. The French tactician believes such speculation is normal, and shouldn’t be allowed to distract from the hunt for silverware in the ongoing season.
“There is no concern at all," Wenger said to Arsenal’s official website. "What is more of a concern is that we try everything to win something. Cesc is committed when he plays, what’s the future? We don’t know what will happen in six months, in two years, in five years. Your commitment is when you sign your contract and where you play."
The Spanish media have constantly linked Fabregas with a return to Barcelona, and the player has not done much to hide his intent to return to the Catalan giants in the future. But at 22 years old, and with Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez still a formidable partnership at Barca, a move in the summer is seemingly unlikely.
