Arsenal’s hopes to maintain their momentum after their impressive win against Liverpool were dealt a blow with news that both Alex Song and Andrey Arshavin could be out for the highly anticipated Champions League match against Porto in midweek.
"Unfortunately we have lost Alex Song with a medial knee ligament problem," said Wenger to the club’s official website. "I hope he will be available for next week but it is not for sure. Arshavin looks to be a hamstring problem. We have to assess that too. Nasri got an elbow in his face and he felt unwell. But that is no problem. He will be available.”
The Gunners have salvaged their chances for a Premier League title, now just six points off leaders Chelsea, and five less than second placed Manchester United.
