Former Liverpool and Marseille striker Djibril Cisse moved to Panathinaikos after a largely unsuccessful second stint in the Premier League with Sunderland. The 28-year-old was once one of the hottest properties in the football transfer market as a youngster in Auxerre, but disappointing spells has significantly lowered his value. His recent Greek adventure however, has turned out to be an outstanding success, with the Frenchman returning to rampant form in front of goal, and high once again in confidence.

By signing with Panathinaikos, I put my chips down on the table. I found my feelings of Auxerre, the desire to play and score. I’m having fun!” Cisse said to France Football. “If the coach [Raymond Domenech] approaches me [for coming Spain friendly], trust me, he will not regret it," he continued.. "It will be difficult to exclude me. I have rabies, but a good rage!

The 28-year-old has scored 17 goals in 20 league appearances for the Greek side.
