Angola’s coach Manuel Jose has resigned for personal reasons according to France Football. The Portuguese boss had led the host nation into the recent Nations Cup and his departure comes as something of a surprise.
Jose took over as Angola boss in 2009 after leaving Egyptian giants Al Ahly after six years in what is arguably Africa’s toughest domestic league.
Angola, who reached the quarter-final of the Nations Cup, will not make an immediate appointment and assistant Jose Zeca Amaral will take over on a temporary basis.
