The stage is set for an almighty battle over Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic this summer, with four European giants all keen to add the Serbian to their ranks for the 2010/11 campaign.
AC Milan, Barcelona, Internazionale and Real Madrid are all monitoring Vidic and believe they can lure him away from Old Trafford this summer. For Real Madrid especially, the Serbian has emerged as perhaps their key defensive target of the transfer window.
Vidic is believed to favour a move to Madrid ahead of Milan, Barcelona and Inter, though this will depend on Los Blancos negotiating a price acceptable to Manchester United. That price is thought to be around €22M, although with such intense interest from a number of sides, the Old Trafford club may believe they can push the fee higher.
The Serbian defender joined the Premier League giants in 2006, moving from Russian side Spartak Moscow. He soon adapted to English football and established himself as one of the best centre-backs in world football.
