Manchester United continue their quest to reach their third Champions League final in succession when they lock horns with Italian giants AC Milan on Tuesday night. One player who will need no extra motivation to leave it all out on the pitch is striker Dimitar Berbatov, who has been runner-up in the prestigious tournament twice – once with Bayer Leverkusen and last year with the Red Devils.
“Two times, two losses for me and then you have players who have won it, like, four times. But I’m glad I had the opportunity to play at the highest level. I want to be there again and I’m sure we will be,” Berbatov said to UEFA.com, adding "I have played against each big club in the world, but I’ve never played against Milan – I am very excited."
The slick Bulgarian striker is far from certain to be involved from the get go in the highly anticipated match at the San Siro, with Wayne Rooney being preferred to play in a lone forward role in recent games.
