Tottenham Hotspur left-back Gareth Bale believes his side showed what they were capable of after coming back from a goal down to level and almost win their FA Cup match against Bolton on Sunday at the Reebok Stadium. A saved Tom Huddlestone penalty kept Spurs from completing the comeback, but Bale is delighted with how his team responded to adversity.
"It was disappointing in the first half but we came out fighting in the second half, showed what we’re made of and I think we were unlucky not to win the game in the end," said Bale to his club’s official website. "We knew it was going to be difficult at Bolton and we just needed to compete a bit more. We did that. The lads responded well. We showed what we’re capable of and as I said, we were unlucky not to get the win."
Bale has enjoyed a run of ten consecutive games for Spurs, and has been impressive in the absence of Benoit Assou-Ekotto.
