Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann believes The Reds have the edge against Manchester City on Sunday. The German midfielder made 283 appearances over seven years with the Anfield outfit before finishing his career off at Eastlands, making him a uniquely relevant person to ask about both sides.

Liverpool have put themselves in a better position than they were maybe four to six weeks ago when it looked a bit bleak. They’ve been on a great run since then and put themselves right back in the race, while the other teams have dropped points,” Hamman said in Liverpool’s official website. “The momentum is with Liverpool at the moment and if they don’t get beat on Sunday, I think they’ll have a fantastic chance of finishing in the top four.”

Liverpool are currently one point behind fourth-placed City and have played one more game, making tomorrow’s match even more important as the race for the last Champions League spot heats up.
