Manchester City striker Robinho, currently on loan at Brazilian side Santos, has revealed how he rejected a winter transfer window switch to Barcelona.
The striker told Radio Globo: "I had an offer from Barcelona, but they wanted to bring me in on a transfer and Manchester City didn’t want to sell me."
Robinho’s comments are in line with reports that came from the Catalan capital at the time, suggesting that while Barcelona were keen to complete a permanent deal for the ex-Real Madrid star, Manchester City did not at that point wish to sell their £32.5M man.
"Then they [Barcelona] wanted me on a loan deal" explained Robinho, "but it wouldn’t have been good to take my whole family, look for a house and only be there six months."
