With Manchester City making it three draws in a row after failing to score against Liverpool, manager Roberto Mancini is calling for Carlos Tevez to return from Argentina, where he was visiting his wife, who prematurely gave birth to their child. The former Manchester United striker’s energy has been missed in recent matches, and the Italian tactician is keen to have it back sooner rather than later.

"I hope Carlos, within the next two days, can come back here because we need him. Maybe he is on the plane. I spoke to him three days ago,” Mancini said. “He had some problems with his family but now it has been resolved and I hope he comes back. I think he will come back in two days. I need him."

Tevez has been prolific since he switched clubs, having scored 19 goals in all competitions for Man City this season already, equalling his highest ever total for Man Utd.
