Manchester City have only managed two 1-1 draws with Stoke City in the last two matches they faced each other, with the referee’s decision to disallow a goal the only thing keeping The Citizens from taking nothing from the match. Roberto Mancini now believes his side must learn how to play like Tony Pulis’ boys if they are to beat The Potters in their FA Cup replay, and go on to play Chelsea in the quarter-finals.
“Now we have a good game at Stoke. We want to play Chelsea twice so we want to win at Stoke. It’s difficult but we will try,” Mancini said in mcfc.co.uk. “Against Stoke, the ball will always be in the air. So we will prepare for a different game and not play our football. We must work on the high ball, on corners and free kicks, long balls and long passes. If we want to win this game, we must play like them."
Man City will be hoping to have Roque Santa Cruz back fit to aid Emmanuel Adebayor, and captain Kolo Toure ready to return in defence.
