Barcelona midfield maestro Lionel Messi reveals that his record-breaking side are hungrier than ever to continue in the same vein as last year. The Catalan giants managed a whopping six trophies last year, and could be the first side to retain a Champions League title should they continue to do well in the tournament this year.
“We have to take advantage of this great team; all of us feel that. This is a special moment and the squad and technical staff all know that if we keep working hard then, step by step, we will achieve more and more,” Messi said to UEFA.com. “That’s all the motivation you need. It would be nice to become the first side to retain the Champions League and we will see whether we achieve it."
The 22-year-old phenomenon has been in remarkable form again this season, scoring 23 goals in 32 appearances already so far this season.
