Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon has failed to play a single game since the turn of the year due to a groin problem, and will anxiously await scan results that are expected to be released later today. The 22-year-old was expected to be back within the week, but complained of discomfort in a weekend training session and could be out for longer than expected.

The crafty player was in scintillating form at the start of the season, proving to be a key member in his club’s push for Champions League football, as well as England’s ambition for World Cup glory.

In the 20 games Lennon has played this season, he has made 11 assists and scored three goals. Although in his absence, Spurs, who currently sit in fourth place, have continued to impress, his presence would be a welcome addition to any side.
