Real Madrid veteran Guti Hernandez believes his side’s Saturday clash with Sevilla is a vital stepping stone for a good performance against Lyon in the Champions League in midweek. The Spanish 33-year-old believes playing at the Santiago Bernabeu for the two matches will spur the squad on to perform at a higher level.
“Everyone is talking about the Lyon match, but watch out, Sevilla visit first. We need to take one step at a time. Saturday’s match is very important,” Guti said on the club’s official website. “We will be very confident heading into Wednesday’s match if we win. We are anxious to play and motivated by our fans, so I am sure we will do well in both matches.”
Real will be looking to exact revenge against the tough Sevilla, who they lost to in their first meeting of the season in November.
