La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly monitoring Sporting Lisbon’s young defender Daniel Carrico. The 21-year-old has impressed with the Portuguese side and also stars for the country’s Under-21 side.
Atletico have well documented defensive problems and are already well into the planning process to ensure these are addressed for the next campaign. Carrico would seem to be under consideration to help that process.
Whether Sporting Lisbon would allow their 21-year-old to leave for Spain remains uncertain, but with the Lisbon side set to miss out on Champions League football next season they may need to bring in extra funds to reshape their squad.
