Aston Villa may have lost a chance for silverware after succumbing to Manchester United in the Carling Cup final, but a return to Wembley is not far off, as they came from behind to see off Reading in the FA Cup quarterfinals. With another chance for a trophy beckoning, the heartbreak of their recent cup defeat will surely be eased slightly.
“It was the perfect tonic after losing last week. It was very disappointing to lose in a cup final and you’ve got to bounce back from it,” Ashley Young said in the club’s official website. "It takes a long time to get over losing a final. Everyone has been disappointed this week but we knew we had a big game coming up and the chance to get back to Wembley.”
The Villains will be facing a fierce challenge in the semi-finals when they clash with Premier League powerhouse Chelsea.
