With Cesc Fabregas missing out in the crucial Champions League game against Porto tonight, thoughts are turning towards who could replace the influential Spaniard in Arsenal’s midfield. The prime candidate appears to be Samir Nasri.

"He is the same as Cesc [Fabregas], 22-years-old so very young." said Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

The Frenchman also praised Nasri’s versatility, "He can play defensive midfield, attacking midfield and on the flanks."

Arsenal believe that Nasri has come into form at just the right time and can be crucial in helping to go some way towards replacing the influence of Fabregas against the Portuguese giants.
