Atletico Madrid are determined to re-shape their squad for next season to ensure that the current La Liga campaign is soon forgotten. The Spanish giants are in the process of putting together their summer hit-list according to Madrid daily Marca, and the name which stands out the most is that of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
The Dutch striker struggled at Atletico’s rivals Real Madrid last season, although on occasion did seem close to a good run of form. Huntelaar was shipped out of La Liga in the summer, ending up in Italy with AC Milan. There too however he has failed to establish himself and the Rossoneri seemingly considered a parting of the ways in January. Atletico, encouraged by this, believe they could tempt Huntelaar back to Spain, giving him the opportunity to prove Real Madrid wrong.
Also on Atletico’s list are thought to be Giuseppe Rossi of Villarreal and Roberto Soldado of Getafe. The targeting of so many forwards will though certainly raise suspicions that Sergio Aguero could be on his way out of the Vicente Calderon.
