Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has stated that he believes the club’s fans have a right to expect The Reds to finish in the top four of the Premier League. Rafael Benitez’s men are currently struggling to make good Agger’s belief however, and face a crucial battle with bottom of the league Portsmouth on Monday night.

"The fans have a right to expect Liverpool to be in the top four" said the Danish defender, "A big club like Liverpool should be in the top four every year."

Meanwhile Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has promised that "we will work as hard as we did in our last game against Lille" as he seeks to reassure the club’s support that the team are doing all they can to arrest the current slump.
