Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov, who has taken his fair share of criticism, for what some feel is an inability to live up to his hefty price tag, was in fine form in the win against Fulham on Sunday. The Bulgarian set up Wayne Rooney’s second goal after some exquisite work on the right flank, then went on to score late in the match to grab the team’s third goal.

"I’m pleased," Berbatov told MUTV after the victory. "It’s part of my job, to assist and to score, but if we win it doesn’t matter if I score, as long as we are champions in the end. I preferred the second goal I gave to Wayne today than scoring.”

The former Tottenham star’s performance helped lift Man Utd back to the summit of the Premier League, where they sit two points ahead of nearest rivals Chelsea.
