Arsenal remained in the thick of the Premier League title race thanks to a very late injury-time winner from the in form Nicklas Bendtner, to stun the crowd at the KC Stadium. Manager Arsene Wenger believes such desire to win from his young side proves his boys are ready to start winning trophies.
“These kinds of wins strengthen our belief but I think they are more a consequence of our spot-on attitude,” Wenger said on the club’s official website. “It is something special for such a young team to have that. It comes from the desire to win something.”
Wenger has been roundly criticised in the last couple of years for Arsenal’s inability to win silverware and his determination to stick to his vision of a talented young team. The current Gunners squad has an average age of 22, but is now showing signs of a maturity that is necessary to win trophies at football’s highest level.
