Aston Villa kept their push for fourth place alive last night with an important win over Wigan Athletic. James Milner took his tally to double digits in the match, scoring the decisive goal to cap off another impressive performance for his club in the middle of the pitch.
“He was extraordinary tonight," said manager Martin O’Neill on the club’s official website "It was an extraordinary performance by a really, really good player. Since he has stepped into the midfield his game has gone up tenfold really and he continues to go from strength to strength.”
The Villains are now just three points adrift fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur and are still with a game in hand. They will be looking to keep piling on the pressure when they face Wolverhampton at the weekend.
