Jose Mourinho, who never lost at home as Chelsea manager, proved Stamford Bridge continues to be his fortress even as Inter Milan boss, by dumping his former club out of the Champions League. The self-titled “Special One” has had a rocky relationship with opposition manager Carlo Ancelotti, dating back to the Italian’s time at AC Milan, a feud that after last night’s affair, the Portuguese tactician believes is over.

With Carlo there have sometimes been a few words too many, but there’s no realtion between the respect and the few exchanges of words that there have been between us,” Mourinho said on the club’s official website. “He gave me some Italian wine today and I brought him the wine of my country. He invited me to his office after the game, there’s a good relationship,” he continued, before adding a quick swipe, “I hope he wins the Premier League, I don’t want to remain the only coach who has won it with Chelsea."

Mourinho enjoyed a three-year spell filled with silverware at Chelsea, success that no manager since his departure has matched.
