Luis Fernandez, the much travelled French coach, could be in line for the job of Israeli national coach. Fernandez, who enjoyed a spell in the Israeli league with Beitar Jerusalem in 2005, has a meeting with IFA president Avi Luzon to discuss the position, according to France Football.

Fernandez was most recently coach of French side Reims, leaving his position last summer after failing to prevent the club’s relegation from Ligue 2.

Vastly experienced however, having had spells with Paris Saint-Germain, Espanyol, Real Betis and Al-Rayyan amongst others, Fernandez could bring the international know-how many have believed Israel to be lacking as they look to qualify for a major finals tournament.
