Former Sporting Lisbon coach Paulo Bento has denied reports that he has been in contact with FC Porto about taking over the Portuguese giants. Bento has been without a job since resigning as Sporting coach in November following four years in charge in Lisbon.
"I’m living with a different situation than that which I experienced over the last 21 years," Bento told Portuguese daily A Bola, "I do not know [where] my career will go."
The former Portugal international midfielder should return to the game shortly though and explained he has been in demand: "I have contacts, but I see myself in a few months [going] back to work."
It will come as little surprise if Porto did enquire about Bento however, as despite reaching the last 16 of the Champions League, the Liga Sagres giants are well adrift of both Benfica and Braga in the title race.
