Arsenal have been drawn against Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final, a prospect that Cesc Fabregas and company are relishing. Although facing the defending champions will understandably be a daunting task, The Gunners are not in the least being intimidated.
“It is very exciting,” Fabregas said on the club’s official website. “We are going to play against the best team in Europe, probably in the world. The boys are really looking forward to it as it is another opportunity to play against a great team in a great stadium. It will be very exciting,” he continued. “But if we had been drawn against Bordeaux or Lyon we would have taken it the same way. Barcelona is a great team but we always go with the same mentality and that is to win.”
Arsenal, who are currently second in the league, have surprised many this season with their resilient bunch of youngsters. Facing Barcelona in the quarterfinals will definitely be a good test to see just how far along Arsene Wenger’s side are in their development.
