Manchester United reclaimed top spot with their come-from-behind victory against Liverpool yesterday, thanks in large part to midfielder Park Ji-Sung, who netted the winner. The South Korea captain did more than just score the decisive goal, and manager Sir Alex Ferguson was quick to highlight just how important the former PSV Eindhoven star is becoming.

Ji-sung was fantastic,” the Man Utd boss said on the club’s official website. “He’s one of these players that we can give him roles to play and he does it because of his control and discipline. We found another role for him, which was slightly different to the one he played against Milan, but nonetheless he did a really important job for us. He’s such a brave little lad that his courage got him the goal.”

Park looks to be developing a habit of scoring goals against the bigger clubs this season, having found the back of the net against Arsenal and AC Milan earlier in the year.
