Manchester City are now in a very strong position to achieve their goal to claim fourth spot in the Premier League after prevailing in a tricky match against high-flying Fulham. The Cottagers were brought back to earth just days after their astonishing feat of reversing a 3-1 first-leg deficit, to dump Juventus out of the Europa League in midweek. Manager Roberto Mancini was extremely pleased with his side, who he claims were well deserved winners.
“We played a good game, were very strong and we deserved to win,” Mancini said on the club’s official website. “It wasn’t as comfortable as it perhaps should have been in the end, but Fulham fought well and were maybe a little tired after their game against Juventus.”
Should Man City continue to win their league matches, they will succeed in qualifying for the Champions League next year.
