According to Spanish daily Marca, Sevilla manager Manolo Jimenez is under intense scrutiny from the club’s chairman, Jose Maria del Nido. It is believed that the third year coach has been given only until the next game against Xerez to prove that he his worthy to be the team’s boss.

Sevilla are currently on a six-game winless streak, and were dumped out by CSKA Moscow from the Champions League in the middle of the disappointing run. The latest loss to Espanyol at the weekend has prompted Del Nido to take action, and should Jimenez fail to steer his side to victory in midweek, the Sevillistas could be with a new manager by the time they face Villarreal.

Sevilla have fallen to fifth in the league, six points behind Valencia who are in third-place, the position the club finished in last season.
