Barcelona maestro Lionel Messi has been virtually unstoppable in the last few games, leading many to start debating whether the young Argentinean phenomenon could be the greatest football player of all time. Although plenty are still sizing him up with the likes of Maradona, team-mate Pedro is absolutely convinced he his playing with the greatest footballer the world has ever witnessed.
“In my opinion, Leo is better than Maradona. I play alongside him, I see him every day and I believe he’s the best,” Pedro said on the club’s official website. “Maradona was the best player in history, but Messi is very young and has achieved a great deal. I think he’s already overtaken Maradona.”
Messi has scored a whopping 11 goals in the last five matches for Barcelona, including back-to-back hat-tricks in La Liga.
Sevilla have fallen to fifth in the league, six points behind Valencia who are in third-place, the position the club finished in last season.
