Chelsea haven’t been in top form in the last few games, and they have paid the price at a very crucial time in the season. The Blues currently find themselves third in the Premier League behind Arsenal and Manchester United, and out of the Champions League thanks to Inter Milan. Midfielder John Obi Mikel however, insists the squad is still bonded and united in their push to recover from their slump..
“We are all professionals and when things are not going well we mustn’t be down. This is when we need everyone to show support and to be together; team, fans and coaching staff, and hopefully we can put things right by the end of the season,” Mikel said on the club’s official website. “It has been really, really difficult but the manager has been there for us and we all are sticking together. We have a game against Portsmouth and we have to go there and win.”
Chelsea have a great opportunity to snatch second place in midweek, when they face rock-bottom Portsmouth.
