Former Germany manager Jurgen Klinsmann has been in awe of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney’s prolific goal scoring form this season. Once a striker himself, the 45-year-old describes the England player’s instinct so fine tuned that he can just about smell the ball.
"His instinct is just tremendous,” Klinsmann said on UEFA.com “He can smell the ball; he knows where it goes, and he’s always available for the team. He works hard, he runs backwards and helps defensively. He lives in the moment, and that’s the best thing you can do as a football player."
Rooney has been in tremendous form for the Red Devils this season, scoring 33 goals in all competitions already, including a remarkable 26 in 29 league matches.
