Manchester United could make English football history should they win another Premier League title this year. A triumph this season will see the Red Devils overtake Liverpool as the team with the most league titles, and become the first club to win four-straight as well. Midfield maestro Paul Scholes, however, isn’t letting the opportunity to shape history affect his drive to win matches.
“It would be great. Three in a row was a big achievement and now we want to go one step further. But the chance to make history doesn’t drive me – that’s not what’s in the back of my mind when I walk out onto the pitch,” Scholes said on manutd.com. “I just want to win every game and hopefully win every trophy, whether it’s the first time I’ve won it or the 10th time. The aim each year is to win the league. If that means making history then terrific – if not, so be it.”
Scholes will likely be showcasing just how strong his drive to win is when Man Utd visit Bolton Wanderers at the weekend.
