2008 European Champions Spain are considered, along with Brazil, to be this summer’s favourites in the World Cup, something that La Roja coach Vicente Del Bosque doesn’t agree with. Although his side have been in sparkling form leading up to the tournament at South Africa, the former Real Madrid boss is unconvinced his side should believe all the hype.
“The question I’m constantly asked over and over is if we’re contenders for the Trophy,” Del Bosque said to Fifa’s official website. “And even though we don’t agree, we can hardly say it doesn’t make sense that we’re singled out, given we’re European champions and have won so many games in a row.”
With plenty of massive teams playing in the World Cup, Del Bosque is looking determined to ensure his boys enter the tournament with their feet firmly on the ground.
