Manchester United face a tricky trip to Bolton Wanderers at the weekend, a visit that is made even more challenging given the fact that the Red Devils travel to Bayern Munich for their Champions League quarter-final first leg match just three days later. Former first-choice full-back Denis Irwin is convinced the short space in-between games will surely mean numerous changes in the squad for the weekend.
“It’s made even more difficult because the game is just three days before we travel to Bayern Munich in the Champions League. I think the manager will make a few changes,” Irwin said on the club’s official website. “But if you look at the win over Liverpool, Dimitar Berbatov didn’t play, Jonny Evans and Rafael were on the bench, while Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes only played cameo roles as substitutes. So if they are playing then it’s not as if it’s a weakened team."
Man Utd will be hoping to continue their impressive run of just one loss in the last ten games at the weekend, while resting some key players in the process.
