Valencia boosted their chances of ensuring Champions League qualification by narrowly defeating Malaga last night. David Villa’s early first-half goal was enough to settle the game, but the match-winner would later have to be hospitalised after he complained of dizziness and vomiting.

The Spain striker had been dealt a blow to the head in the contest, but was able to finish the rest of the affair and head home after. Discomfort set it in later in the night though, and Villa decided to have a few tests run in order to find out what could be the cause of his distress.

Valencia will be eagerly waiting on the test results, but signs point to the prolific striker being unavailable for the weekend match against Real Zaragoza.
