Chelsea’s prolific striker Didier Drogba has been in phenomenal scoring form this season, with 30 goals in all competitions already. The Ivory Coast native is on course to surpass his former best of 33 in a single season, a return that also saw him crowned with the Premier League’s Golden Boot. Despite all the attention surrounding his rampant goal scoring form however, the 32-year-old is adamant all he cares about is winning the league with The Blues.
“If I don’t finish top scorer, I won’t mind so long as we win the League,” Drogba said on the club’s official website. “It would be a great honour to win it again (Golden Boot) but what is really important for me is the League. So I am doing everything for the team.”
Drogba is currently two goals shy of current Premier League top scorer Wayne Rooney, who has netted a remarkable 26 goals in 29 league matches.
