Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is good enough to be considered alongside the club’s keeping greats according to coach Sammy Lee. The 27-year-old Spaniard, who Rafael Benitez bought from Villarreal in 2005, has been in superb form once again this season.

"Without a shadow of a doubt he’s up there with Clemo [Ray Clemence], Brucie Grobbelaar, who I played with and against," Lee told Liverpool’s official website.

Having seen many goalkeepers in the likes of David James, Sander Westerveld, Chris Kirkland, Scott Carson and Jerzy Dudek try and fail to reach the heights set by former Anfield greats, Liverpool are delighted to have the Spaniard between the sticks.

With Reina having recently signed a new deal, the Premier League side can look forward to more assured displays from the man who has already won three consecutive Golden Glove awards for the most clean sheets in a season.
