Top four contenders Aston Villa were on the wrong end of a nasty hammering at the weekend, and their manager Martin O’Neill has come out to take full responsibility for his side’s thrashing. The Villains have won just once in their last five Premier League outings, and are in real danger of dropping out of the race for fourth place.
"The buck stops with me," O’Neill said on the club’s official website. "It is my responsibility, it is as simple as that and we have got a week now to prepare for Bolton and a week after that the semi-final. We’ve shown a lot more desire and a lot more character than we did against Chelsea and that is totally my responsibility.”
With their latest loss, Villa are now seven points behind fourth placed Tottenahm Hotspur.
