Bayern Munich will face the in form Manchester United tonight in highly anticipated Champions League quarter-final match at the Allianz Arena, with key player Arjen Robben in a race to get fit for the match. The former Chelsea and Real Madrid player has been a vital piece of the German giants’ squad, and would be a real blow to the side’s chances should he fail to recover from his knock in time.
“Wayne Rooney is a really great player – it will be very difficult to keep him quiet, but we are not afraid of him. We have to play as a team; then we have a chance. We are not favourites but we are at home and we can play very well here,” Van Gaal insisted on UEFA.com. “We will do everything we can to get Robben fit but he will only play if he is 100%. I won’t risk anything.”
Robben is being assessed after he suffered a calf injury in Bayern’s recent loss to Stuttgart.
