Although Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez was understandably delighted with the performance Fernando Torres made in the win against Sunderland at the weekend, he feels the striker still has room to improve – a view that is shared by the in form Spain international.
"We signed him and we knew he was good, but yes, we’re surprised sometimes! But still my idea is he can improve." Benitez claimed on the club’s official website. “He knows he can improve and he knows how, that’s the main thing. Saying this, I am really pleased because he got two goals and again it was a great performance from the team. It’s what the team needed.”
Liverpool, who are currently four points adrift fourth place, will need Torres to be firing on all cylinders as they continue their chase to qualify for the Champions League next season.
