Chelsea have been in frightening form in their last two matches, scoring a total of 12 goals in their last two outings against Portsmouth and Aston Villa. The Blues captain John Terry, believes the change of formation close to a 4-3-3 allows the team to be more menacing in attack with the added threat of the wide players.
“The formation suits us probably a little bit better with the two widemen,” Terry explains on the club’s official website. “Over the years we have had a lot of success with that. We stretch teams, especially at home, which is good because teams do come to the Bridge and sit tight.”
Terry will be hoping their new formation will work with the same success as in the last two matches when they visit Old Trafford to face title rivals Manchester United at the weekend.
