Inter coach Jose Mourinho has spoken about the club’s ongoing troubles with striker Mario Balotelli following their 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League last night. Balotelli has had a difficult relationship with the Portuguese boss since Mourinho arrived at the San Siro and recently got into further trouble by wearing an AC Milan shirt in a TV show sting.
Asked about Balotelli, Mourinho replied: "You’re wrong about one thing. [It’s] not a problem between Mourinho and Balotelli, but between the club and Balotelli. It is not a personal situation."
Such remarks will raise speculation that Mourinho’s decision to exclude Balotelli from his recent match day squads was not in fact his. The Portuguese coach also played down rumours linking the striker with Bologna.
