Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that Barcelona had him seriously worried during their Champions League meeting with the Spanish side last week. The Gunners face a tough trip to Spain on Tuesday, with the tie balanced at 2-2.
Wenger told his club’s official site: "In the first 20 minutes I have never sat on a bench where my team conceded so many chances. You would think it was like a storm."
Indeed Barcelona played what their coach Josep Guardiola later said was their best half of football of the season, and Wenger was clearly shocked and concerned at how the La Liga team dominated his young charges, while admitting that he could not help but appreciate their display.
"You admire" said Wenger, "and you worry."
With Barcelona sweating on the fitness of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gerard Pique, both looking doubts for the Arsenal game and El Clasico, Wenger may face a slightly weakened team.
